Cancellation Policies for Lodging

A. In the event that a cancellation must be made due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of the guest, a change of day or refund will be made under the following conditions:

1. It is for the period from December 23 to January 10 or Easter and it was made more than 22 days in advance.

2. It is for any day that DOES NOT INCLUDE the period from December 23rd to January 10th or Easter Week and the cancellation was made 5 calendar days or more in advance.

Important, if you wish to make the change you must reschedule a date in the following 3 months.

B. In the event that a cancellation must be made due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of the guest and the cancellation was requested late:

1. No refund is made, but neither should you pay any additional amount.

C. If lodging activities must be suspended due to force majeure, the guest can choose between a change of date or a full refund of the deposit.

 

Cabin Use Regulations

Breakfast:

The breakfast availability range is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

- The kitchen will close after the last scheduled breakfast.

 

Check-in/check-out:

In the low season, check-in time is at 2 p.m. and check-out time is at 12 p.m.

In the high season, check-in time is at 3 p.m. and check-out time is at 12 p.m.
- If you wish to have a late check-out, you can check for availability at 8994-4288.
- Late check-out has an additional charge and allows you to stay until 6 p.m.
- Any additional person wishing to enter must check-in at the reception.

Coexistence:
- To respect other tenants, do not exceed noise levels that cause disturbance.
- Due to the nature of the place, loud music is not allowed.
- After 10 p.m., no loud noises are allowed out of respect for other tenants.
- For a peaceful stay, do not feed the animals that come near the place.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the cabins.

Best Experience:
- We are not responsible for the loss of valuables or money on our property.
- If you are going to leave your pet alone in the room, leave it in a travel cage to avoid any damage or negative experience.
- Do not leave the fireplace on if you are going out or going to sleep.
- If you want to request an additional night, please do so at the reception before the check-out of your previous reservation.

RANCHO AMALIA HORSE RIDING RULES

By this document, I agree to be bound by and comply with the rules, regulations, and policies of Rancho Amalia, which are as follows:

1. For the safety of the clients, the ride will not take place under the following weather conditions:
- There is a thunderstorm.
- There are cold fronts presenting strong winds.
- There is heavy rain, storm, or if it is the rainy season, after 12 p.m.

2. The following individuals are not allowed to participate in Rancho Amalia tours:
- Children under 5 years old.
- Individuals wearing inappropriate clothing such as dresses, shorts, high heels, or sandals.
- Individuals under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
- Individuals weighing more than 100 kg. 
- Individuals who do not want to wear the safety equipment or do not follow the guide's instructions.
- Individuals who do not sign the liability waiver.

3. Not recommended.

They ride at their own responsibility or that of the person in charge:
- Pregnant women.
- Individuals with diabetes.
- Individuals with any physical disability that puts them at risk while riding.
- Individuals with health issues that put them at risk while riding.
- Children aged 5 to 7 on the 4 km tour.

4. Regarding the duration of the ride:


- The duration of the ride is the AVERAGE duration for most clients.
- Participants understand that the duration may vary depending on the pace of the ride.
- Rancho Amalia charges by DISTANCE, which is FIXED, and not by DURATION, which can VARY.

5. Horse Riding Regulations:

  • - Horseback riding tours are not permitted for children under 5 years of age as they are not covered by the INS Civil Liability Insurance by default.
  • - Children aged 5 to 7 will ride their own horse led by the guide.
  • - Minors must always be accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult in addition to the guide.
  • - No two people are allowed to ride the same horse.
  • - Always follow the recommendations of the guide in charge.
  • - Galloping on the horses is not allowed.
  • - Always follow the route behind the guide and do not deviate from it.
  • - More experienced riders should not gallop to avoid disturbing less experienced riders.
  • - It is mandatory to always wear the safety helmet.
  • - Avoid using mobile phones or other electronic devices during the ride.
  • - If you want to take photos, ask the guide to take them for you.
  • - We are not responsible for any objects that may be lost during the ride.
  • - If you are allergic to any animal bites or similar, bring the appropriate medication to avoid inconveniences during the ride.
  • - If you have any condition and need to take medication, bring the appropriate medication and inform the guide in case you need to take it during the ride.
  • - If any participant wishes to stop riding during the tour, they may leave the tour immediately on foot, and no refund will be given.
  • - If any participant behaves inappropriately, putting other riders, the guide, or the horses at risk, they must leave the tour immediately on foot, and no refund will be given.
  • - If any participant does not follow ANY of the above rules and suffers an accident, they will not be covered by the INS Civil Liability Insurance.

Pet policies.
Lodging.
- Only small breed dogs are allowed in lodging.
- Maximum 2 dogs per cabin.
- You can leave your pet alone in the room as long as it is in a carrier.
- In lodging is charged a single payment of 10.000 colones additional (regardless of the number of nights).

- The owner must bring leash, bedding, blankets and dishes for water and food for their pets.

Restaurant.
-Pets are not allowed in the restaurant area due to Ministry of Health policies.

- For walks there is no additional fee.
- The owner must be responsible for pet waste.
- Rancho Amalia is not responsible for damages or injuries caused to pets by other animals or other accidents.
- Important: we reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone who does not comply with the policies.
