CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR LODGING

A. In case a cancellation needs to be made due to unforeseen circumstances on the guest's part, a date change or refund will be offered under the following conditions:

1. It is for the period from December 23 to January 10 or Easter Week, and the cancellation was made with more than 22 days’ notice.

2. It is for any day NOT included in the period from December 23 to January 10 or Easter Week, and the cancellation was made with 5 or more calendar days’ notice.

Important: If you wish to change the date, you must reschedule within the next 3 months.

B. If a cancellation needs to be made due to unforeseen circumstances on the guest's part and is requested late:

1. No refund will be given, but no additional payment is required.

C. If lodging activities must be suspended due to force majeure, the guest may choose between a date change or a full refund of the deposit.

 

CABIN USAGE REGULATIONS

Breakfast:

- Breakfast is available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- The kitchen will close after the last scheduled breakfast.

Check-in/check-out:

- In the low season, check-in is at 2 p.m. and check-out is at 12 noon. In the high season, check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 12 noon.
- If you wish to request a late check-out, please inquire about availability at 8994-4288.
- A late check-out incurs an additional fee, allowing you to stay until 6 p.m.
- Any additional person wishing to enter must check in at the reception.

Respectful conduct:

- Out of respect for other tenants, do not exceed noise levels that could cause disturbance.
- Due to the nature of the place, loud music is not allowed.
- After 10 p.m., loud noise or disturbances are prohibited out of respect for other tenants.
- To maintain a peaceful stay, please do not feed any animals that may approach the area.
- Smoking inside the cabins is prohibited.

Better experience:

- We are not responsible for the loss of valuable objects or money on our property.
- If you are leaving your pet alone in the room, place them in a transport cage to avoid any damage or negative experience.
- Do not leave the fireplace on if you are going out or going to sleep.
- If you wish to request an additional night, please do so at the reception before checking out of your current reservation.

 

HORSEBACK RIDING RULES AT RANCHO AMALIA

I hereby agree to be bound by and comply with the rules, regulations, and policies of Rancho Amalia, which are as follows:

1. For the safety of clients, the tour will not take place under the following weather conditions:
- Thunderstorms.
- Cold fronts with strong winds.
- Heavy rain, storms, or after 12 noon during the rainy season.

2. The following people are not permitted to participate in the Rancho Amalia tours:
- Children under 5 years old.
- People wearing inappropriate attire such as dresses, shorts, high heels, or sandals.
- People under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
- People weighing more than 100 kg.
- People unwilling to wear safety equipment or follow the guide's instructions.
- People who do not sign the liability waiver.

3. Not recommended. They ride at their own risk or under the responsibility of a guardian:
- Pregnant women.
- People with diabetes.
- People with physical disabilities that put them at risk while riding.
- People with health issues that put them at risk while riding.
- Children ages 5 to 7 for the 4 km tour.

4. About the duration of the tour:
- The duration is the AVERAGE duration for most clients.
- Participants understand that the duration may vary depending on the riding pace.
- Rancho Amalia charges based on DISTANCE, which is FIXED, not on DURATION, which can VARY.

5. Horseback Riding Regulations:
- The horseback riding tour is not allowed for children under 5 years old as they are not covered by the INS Civil Liability Insurance.
- Children ages 5 to 7 will ride their own horse led by the guide.
- Minors must always be accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult in addition to the guide.
- No double riding is allowed on the same horse.
- Always follow the guide's recommendations.
- Galloping is not allowed on horseback.
- Always stay behind the guide and do not leave the designated path.
- More experienced riders should not gallop to avoid disturbing those with less experience.
- Wearing a safety helmet at all times is mandatory.
- Avoid using a mobile phone or other electronic devices while riding.
- If you wish to take photos, ask the guide to take them for you.
- We are not responsible for any items lost during the horseback ride.
- If you are allergic to any animal bites or similar, please bring the appropriate medication to avoid complications during the ride.
- If you have any health conditions and need to take medication, bring it with you and inform the guide in case you need to take it during the ride.
- If any participant wishes to stop riding during the tour, they may immediately leave the tour on foot, and no refund will be issued.
- If any participant behaves inappropriately, endangering other riders, the guide, or the horses, they must immediately leave the tour on foot, and no refund will be issued.
- If any participant fails to follow ANY of the above rules and suffers an accident, they will not be covered by the INS Civil Liability Insurance.

PET POLICIES FOR LODGING

- Only small-breed dogs are allowed for lodging.
- A maximum of 2 dogs per cabin.
- You may leave your pet alone in the room as long as they are in a transport cage.
- A single fee of 10,000 colones will be charged for pets during the stay, regardless of the number of nights.
- Service animals for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this fee.

- For walks, no additional fee is charged for bringing your pet.
- The owner must bring a leash, bed, blankets, and bowls for their pet’s food and water.
- The owner is responsible for cleaning up after their pet and must not allow the pet on the cabin beds or bathe the pet in the cabin bathroom. If needed, ask reception for assistance, and we will gladly provide an appropriate space for bathing.
- Rancho Amalia is not responsible for any damage or injury caused to pets by other animals or accidents.


IMPORTANT: WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ADMISSION FOR PERSONS WHO DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE POLICIES. That is, if someone brings a pet that does not comply with the policies, they will lose their reservation and will not be allowed to enter.
