1. Let’s get started. Breakfast. Share a delicious Costa Rican-style breakfast with your family, starting with fruit and orange juice. Follow that with a cup of coffee from our own farm, served with pinto beans, eggs, ripe plantains, and the exquisite palmito cheese.

2. The adventure. Self-guided hike. Enjoy a hike of up to 7 km, with 60% of the trail shaded and beautiful panoramic views of the countryside to take in. Take a photo next to the giant higuerón tree bearing your name, or enjoy a snack by the Barranca River.

Difficulty level:

2 km. Los Higuerones Reserve: Very easy, beginners.

4 km. Dueño de Monte Sector: Easy. Beginners.

7 km. La Llorona Sector: Easy–Moderate. Requires a bit more physical fitness.

How do I make a reservation?

You must request the day pass at least one day in advance. For example, if you want to attend on a Sunday, you must request it no later than 5 p.m. on the preceding Saturday.

2. If you’d like, add something extra to the tour. For an additional fee, you can have lunch at the restaurant if it’s Sunday. On other days, we can recommend a place to eat in the area. If the weather is nice, you can even visit Zarcero Park on your own and have a cup of coffee or an ice cream there for dessert.
