Accommodation Policies
Accommodation Cancellation Policies.
A. In the event that a guest must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, a date change or refund will be provided under the following conditions:
This applies to the period from December 23 to January 10 or Holy Week, provided the cancellation was made more than 22 days in advance.
For any dates that DO NOT FALL within the period from December 23 to January 10 or Holy Week, provided the cancellation is made 5 calendar days or more in advance.
Important: If you wish to reschedule, you must book a new date within the next 3 months.
B. In the event that a cancellation is necessary due to unforeseen circumstances on the guest’s part and the request was made too late:
No refund will be issued, but you will not be required to pay any additional amount either.
C. In the event that lodging services must be suspended due to force majeure, the guest may choose between rescheduling to a different date or a full refund of the deposit.
Cabin rules.
Breakfast:
-Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
-The kitchen will close after 9 a.m.
Check-in/Check-out:
-During the off-season, check-in is at 2 p.m. and check-out is at 12 p.m. During the high season, check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 12 p.m.
-If you’d like to arrange a late check-out, please call 8994-4288 to check availability.
-Late check-out incurs an additional fee and allows you to check out until 6 p.m.
-Any additional guests wishing to enter must check in at the front desk.
Community Guidelines:
-Out of respect for other guests, please do not exceed noise levels that may cause disturbance.
-Due to the nature of the location, loud music is not permitted.
-After 10 p.m., loud disturbances are prohibited out of respect for other guests.
-To ensure a peaceful stay, please do not feed any animals that approach the property.
-Smoking is prohibited inside the cabins.
For a Better Experience:
-We are not responsible for the loss of valuables, money, or any other items on our property or in the rooms. We recommend that guests check everything carefully before check-out and take care of their belongings.
-If you plan to leave your pet alone in the room, please keep it in a travel crate to prevent any damage or negative experiences.
-Do not leave the fireplace lit if you are going out or going to sleep.
-If you wish to extend your stay by one night, please request this at the front desk before checking out of your previous reservation. Otherwise, you run the risk of overbooking, and priority will be given to the person who originally booked and confirmed their stay.
Horseback Riding Policies.
I hereby agree to abide by and comply with Rancho Amalia’s rules, regulations, and policies, which are as follows:
1) The tour will not take place if:
For the safety of our guests, the tour will not take place under the following weather conditions:
- There is a thunderstorm.
- There are cold fronts accompanied by strong winds (greater than 26 km/h).
- There is heavy rain, torrential rain starting in the early morning hours, or, during the rainy season, after 12 p.m.
2) The following people may not ride:
Because they are not covered by INS insurance:
- Children under 5 years of age.
- People wearing inappropriate clothing, such as dresses, high heels, or sandals.
- People under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
- People who refuse to wear safety equipment or fail to follow the guide’s or supervisor’s instructions.
- Two people on the same horse.
- According to Rancho Amalia’s internal regulations:
- People weighing more than 100 kg. (Due to the size of the horses.)
- People who do not sign the liability waiver.
- Minors without a responsible adult (other than the guide).
3) Not recommended.
Ride at your own risk or that of the person in charge:
- Pregnant women.
- People with diabetes.
- People with any type of physical disability that puts them at risk while riding.
- People with health conditions that put them at risk while riding.
- Children ages 5 to 7 on the 4-km tour.
4) Regarding the duration of the ride:
- The duration of the ride is the AVERAGE time taken by most customers.
- Participants understand that the duration may vary depending on their riding pace.
- Rancho Amalia charges by DISTANCE, which is FIXED, and not by DURATION, which may VARY.
5) Tour reservation and cancellation policies:
- If you are unable to attend, please notify us via our WhatsApp chat at (506) 8994-4288 before the scheduled time.
- If adverse weather conditions or a force majeure situation prevent us from providing our services, we will contact you to reschedule the time, change the date, or cancel the tour, with a refund of your deposit to your account.
- If you think you won’t be able to arrive at the scheduled time due to a delay, please call (506) 8994-4288 to reschedule the tour—either a few minutes later or after the next scheduled tour.
- If there are no other scheduled tours and you arrive late:
- If you are more than 30 minutes late, a surcharge will be applied for our time.
- If you are more than one hour late, the tour will be canceled entirely. We appreciate your understanding.
6) Horseback Riding Regulations:
- Children aged 5 to 7 will ride their own horse, led by the guide.
- Always follow the guide’s instructions.
- Galloping is not permitted.
- Stay behind the guide at all times and do not stray from the path.
- More experienced riders should not gallop to avoid disturbing less experienced riders.
- Wearing a safety helmet is mandatory at all times.
- Avoid using cell phones or other electronic devices during the ride.
- If you wish to take photographs, please ask the guide to take them.
- We are not responsible for items lost during the ride.
- If you are allergic to animal bites or stings, bring the appropriate medication to avoid any problems during the ride.
- If you have any medical condition and require medication, bring it with you and inform the guide in case you need to take it during the tour.
- If any participant no longer wishes to ride a horse during the tour, they may leave the tour and continue on foot immediately. No refund will be issued.
- If any participant engages in inappropriate behavior that endangers other riders, the guide, or the horses, they must leave the tour on foot immediately, and no refund will be issued.
- If any participant fails to follow any of the above rules and suffers an accident, they will not be covered by the INS Civil Liability Insurance.
Pet´s Policies.
A. Accommodations.
- Only dogs are allowed.
- Only small-breed dogs weighing a maximum of 10 kg per pet are allowed.
- Service animals for people with disabilities must present a license or other form of certification at the time of booking.
- A maximum of 2 dogs per cabin.
- A one-time fee of 10,000 colones is charged for pet accommodation (regardless of the number of nights).
- Owners must bring a leash, bed, blankets, and food and water bowls for their pets.
- Pets are not allowed on the beds or couches in the rooms.
- It is prohibited to bathe your pet in the cabins’ showers. If you need to bathe your pet, please notify the front desk, and we will assist you in a designated area set aside for that purpose.
- Upon check-out, the room will be inspected to ensure compliance with these policies.
B. Restaurant.
-Pets are not allowed in the restaurant area due to Ministry of Health policies.
D. Horseback Rides.
Pets are not allowed on the horseback tour, primarily for safety reasons—especially for the pets themselves.
